"How do you meet someone behind the changing?"
Change. The life of an individual, of a society, of a planet is a story of constant change. "But what if the changes get to be too great?" Ram Dass asks. Then, in our fear, we may try to grab hold. And when we find that we can't stop the change, then prejudice, polarization, and the foreshadowings of violence become the manifestations of our fears. In this lecture, given at the Old Whaling Church on Martha's Vineyard, Ram Dass reflects about practices that can help us become a calm center in the midst of change, by nurturing the part of ourselves that appreciates "the awesome nature of the mystery that includes suffering and death."
